The University of Surrey is one of the UK’s leading professional, scientific and technological universities, with a world-class profile and a leading reputation in teaching and research. Surrey is now sixth place in the Guardian University Guide for 2015 and twelfth in the Good University Guide and Complete University Guide. Surrey also moved up to eighth place for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2014, with 91 per cent of students expressing satisfaction with the quality of their programme.
The university has won three Queen’s Anniversary prizes for their research, their most recent being for water research in 2011/12. Through their wholly owned Research Park, Surrey supports many start-up ventures, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and runs one of the country’s most successful business incubators, based on the Research Park. The university make a significant contribution to the UK economy.
Surrey led the field in introducing Professional Training placements for students as early as 1955 and continue with the programmes today, working closely with over 2,300 partner organisations to give students valuable experience of the professional environment and boost graduate employability. 97 per cent of Surrey’s 2013 graduates were in work or further education six months after they graduated.
